Box Score (Allentown, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with Muhlenberg College on Saturday night, battling wet and muddy field conditions through two scoreless overtime periods.
Sophomore Olivia Termini (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) capitalized on a free kick, putting the Red Devils on the board in the 13th minute from just outside the penalty area.
The Mules answered with a header from Danni Steigerwald, who redirected a serve from Mackenzie O'Brien to tie the game. Termini put the Red Devils back on front, collecting a blocked shot and slipping the ball past the keeper with just under five minutes remaining in the half.
Steigerwald traded blows with Termini once again, pulling the Mules even with a strong shot from the right side in the 63rd minute.
The teams played scoreless for the remainder of regulation and the first overtime period. Junior goaltender Amanda Masterson (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) made a pair of saves in overtime to keep the Devils level.
The teams traded shots in the second extra frame but the Mules were off target and Marissa D'Alessandro made a save on a shot from Killian Donohue (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville).
Masterson made nine saves on the night as Muhlenberg held a 21-7 shot advantage. They gained the edge, outshooting the Devils 9-1 in the second half. The Mules had a 7-2 edge in corners.
The Mules move to 3-5-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils stand at 4-3-3 overall and 0-2-1 in the CC. Dickinson returns home to host McDaniel College on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
