Box Score (Baltimore, Md.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team traveled to #8-ranked Johns Hopkins for a Centennial Conference match-up at historic Homewood Field in Baltimore on Wednesday night. The Blue Jays took advantage of the home setting, netting four goals in the first half.
The Blue Jays scored in the sixth minute on a well-executed play from Sophie Murray and Kristen Hori to the head of Megan Van de loo to put the hosts in front, 1-0. Van de loo returned the favor, just over a minute later serving an assist to Hori to quickly stretch the margin to 2-0.
Van de loo added unassisted goals in the 21st and 28th minutes to put the Blue Jays up, 4-0, at the break.
That would be all the scoring as the match went scoreless for the second half. Hopkins outshot the Devils 27-2 on the night, hitting 13 in the first half and 14 in the second.
Amanda Masterson (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) and Mary Katherine Brosnan (Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan) combined for seven saves in the nets for the Red Devils.
Bess Kitzmiller made a pair of saves for the Blue Jays as they improve to 12-1-2 overall and remained unbeaten at 7-0-0 in the conference.
The Red Devils slip to 6-5-4 on the season and 1-4-2 in the conference. They return home to face Ursinus College on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
