(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team suffered a tough, 3-0 setback to visiting McDaniel College on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils had strong starts in each set but the Green Terror was able close out at the end. Dickinson trailed, 19-17 in the first set before McDaniel took a 1-0 lead with a 25-19 decision.

The Devils took a 3-1 lead in the second and were even at 6-6 before a 6-0 run from the Green Terror. Dickinson tried to chip away but were unable to close the gap, falling 25-13.

Senior Arielle Misrok (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) served the Devils to a 5-1 start in the third with some strong net play from Lauren Ahern (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) and Norma Jean Park (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge).

McDaniel countered to tie the match, 9-9. They went on to break a 12-12 knot with another 6-0 run, going on to claim the set and the match, 25-19.

Allie Lugar led the Green Terror with a match-high 12 kills as they improve to 11-9 overall and 3-1 in the Centennial Conference.

Ahern led the Devils with nine kills while Park tallied seven kills, two aces and a pair of solo blocks. Erin Bongo (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) added five kills and seven digs on the night.

Misrok recorded 14 digs and a pair of aces while Leah Guzick (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) and Alex Berezan (Surrey, B.C./Earl Marriott Secondary) dished out 13 and seven assists, respectively. Guzick also tallied four digs while Berezan added three kills.

The Red Devils slip to 8-9 overall and 1-3 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Bryn Mawr College for a 1:00 start on Saturday.
