(Owings Mills, Md.) – The Dickinson women's swim team posted two big wins on Saturday, turning back Lycoming College, 135-62, and host Stevenson University, 114-77.
First-year Molly Sternick (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) was a triple-winner, touching the wall first in the 50 (25.60) and 100 (56.05) freestyle events, and joining the winning 200 medley relay (1:53.31).
Classmate Madeline Callahan (Westtown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) swam the lead leg of the medley relay, and win the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.42. She also swam exhibition with the 200 free relay for a mark of 1:47.29.
Sophomore Olivia Lyman (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) added individual wins in the 200 individual medley (2:17.01) and the 500 freestyle (5:19.07) while junior Brenna Nimkoff (Weston, Conn./Weston) finished second in the 1000 (11:16.44) and third in the 500 with a time of 5:37.39.
Senior Emily Houser (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) won the 1000 free with a time of 11:07.01, placed second in the 100 butterfly (1:04.07) and anchored the exhibition free relay. Classmate Genna Kranis (Bellmore, N.Y./John F. Kennedy) came in third in the butterfly (1:08.11), and was second in the medley relay.
First-year Demetria Ruhl (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) swam well in the freestyle events, placing second in the 500 (5:36.78), fourth in the 200 free (2:06.08) and leading off the free relay.
Senior Jacqulyn Teller (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) earned a win with the medley relay, placed second in the 200 freestyle (2:03.71) and exhibition in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:13.56.
Sophomore Sammy Boswell (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) anchored the winning medley relay, placed second in the 50 free (25.83) and third in the 100 free with a mark of 56.52. Classmate Katie Schmidt (Orono, Minn./Breck School) added a silver in the 100 backstroke (1:03.33) and was third in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:03.94.
The Red Devils improve to 2-1 on the season. They are on the road again next weekend as the women travel to Bryn Mawr College for a 6:00 pm start on Friday night. They will join the men on Saturday as they compete at the University of Scranton in a 1:00 pm start.
