Hinnenkamp Scores 1,000th in Key Conference Win

Box Score

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's basketball team outscored visiting Muhlenberg College 43-38 in the second half, on the way to another key Centennial Conference win, finishing off the Mules 79-61. Senior Ted Hinnenkamp (York, Pa./York Suburban) hit a free throw at the end of the first half to score the 1,000th point of his career as a Red Devil.

Hinnenkamp becomes the 26th player in program history to reach the milestone, marking the second time this season and the fourth time in the past three seasons. He tallied 11 points in the first half, putting the Red Devils in front, 36-33, at the break.

Hinnenkamp scored eight points in the opening seven minutes as Dickinson jumped out to an 8-0 start and took an 11-2 lead behind a three-pointer from senior Brandon Angradi (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley).

The Mules battled back to cut the deficit to just three as Nick Rindock knocked down a triple at the 12:55 mark. Sophomore Jon Stenger (Midlothian, Va./James River) answered with a three-pointer on the other end and Hinnenkamp stretched the lead to 25-17 with a pair of free throws.

Moses Romocki (Creedmoor, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) scored and fed Angradi for another three-pointer to give the Devils a 12-point advantage with 6:53 remaining in the half.

JeanLee Baez and Rindock led Muhlenberg back to within two before Hinnenkamp's 1,000th-point free throw made the score 36-33 at the break.

Jule Brown (Ardmore, Pa./Lower Merion) opened the second half with a dunk and Stenger buried a three-pointer as the Devils started the second half with a 9-2 run for a double-digit lead at the 15:05 mark.

The lead stayed between 10 and 13 through the middle part of the second half. Dickinson would begin to build on the lead over the final eight minutes, triggered by another long bomb from Angradi that put the Devils up by 18 with 6:35 to play.

They would lead by as many as 21 on the night. First-year Corey Sherman (Penn Valley, Pa./Lower Merion) hit a late three-pointer before the Mules added a lay-up for the final of 79-61.

Hinnenkamp finished with a game-high 17 points, going 5-for-6 from the line, adding five rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots. Angradi finished with five three-pointers for the third straight game, scoring 15 points and controlling six rebounds.

Brown finished 5-of-7 from the field, scoring 13 points to go with three assists and a pair of rebounds. Stenger reached double-figures with 11 while Justus Melton (Charlotte, N.C./Covenant Day) chipped in with seven points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Rindock led Muhlenberg (8-12, 5-9 CC) with 15 points and four rebounds. Brandon LaRose reached double-figures with 11 points on the night.
