Box Score (Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team turned in a strong performance in its home opener on Wednesday night, posting a 3-1 victory over visiting Penn State Harrisburg.
The Red Devils survived a battle in the opening set, holding on for a 25-22 decision. The Lions answered to take the second set, 25-14, before Dickinson claimed the third, 25-19.
After trailing 4-1 in the fourth, the Red Devils gained some momentum and some separation behind a strong serving stint from first-year Alex Berezan (Surrey, B.C./Earl Marriott Secondary) as Dickinson rattled off 15 straight points.
Senior Arielle Misrok (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) closed out the match with her second ace of the night as the Devils earned the win with a 25-10, fourth set.
Misrok tallied 17 digs to move into third all-time in program history with 1,045. Junior Norma Jean Park (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) led the attack with 11 kills, adding five blocks on the night.
Lauren Ahern (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown) played a key role at the service line, recording four aces to go with six kills and three blocks. Berezan dished out 16 assists and had a pair of aces as well.
The Red Devils improve to 5-5 overall. They open Centennial Conference play on Saturday hosting Haverford College at 11:00 am. They will also host N.C. Greensboro on Saturday at 3:00 pm. Haverford and N.C. Greensboro are scheduled to meet at 1:00 pm.
