(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball came out and put an early scare in the 13-1 Spartans of York College on Wednesday night. The Red Devils made a run late in the first set to tie the match, 20-20, and led 23-22 before the visitors answered to claim the opener, 25-23.

The Spartans started to find their rhythm, posting scores of 25-14 and 25-16 to capture the match, but the Red Devils turned in a solid performance and made York work to earn every point.

Junior Erin Bongo (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) served up three aces on the night, adding seven kills to pace the Red Devil attack.

Senior Lauren Ahern (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) added five kills while Norma Jean Park (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) and Lauren Beecher (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) each tallied four on the night.

Senior Arielle Misrok (Ardsley, N.Y./Ardsley) recorded 13 digs and first-year setter Alex Berezan (Surrey, B.C./Earl Marriott Secondary) tallied 10 assists, 11 digs and three aces.

The Spartans improve to 13-1 on the season while the Red Devils slip to 7-6 overall. Dickinson is home again on Saturday, hosting Swarthmore College at 12:00 pm.
