Red Devils Split Tri-Match at Eastern Mennonite

(Harrisonburg, Va.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team split a tri-match on Saturday, posting a 3-1 win over Randolph College and dropping a 3-0 decision to host Eastern Mennonite University.

Randolph claimed the opening set, 25-20, before the Red Devils came alive to win the next three sets to take the match.

The Red Devils survived a tough second set, slipping past the Wildcats, 25-23. The Devils continued to grow stronger throughout the match, winning the third, 25-20, before rolling to a 25-15 decision in the fourth to close out the match.

First-year Jamie Singer (Livingston, N.J./Golda Och) led the attack with nine kills and tallied five digs while senior Norma Jean Park (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) added nine kills, four digs and four block assists.

First-year Jordyn Park (Great Falls, Va./Flint Hill) recorded eight kills and seven digs while Erin Bongo (Rockaway, N.J./Morris Knolls) had seven kills.

Kristin Allgaier (Reston, Va./South Lakes) served up four aces while handing out 24 assists in the opener. Tatiana Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Puertorriqueno de Ninas) tallied three service aces, six assists and 23 digs. Jacqueline Banker (Rockaway Park, N.Y./Archbishop Malloy) reached double-figures with 11 digs.

EMU had a strong start, taking the opening set of the nightcap, 25-15. They would win the next two, but the Red Devils battled to the very end, falling 25-23, 25-23.

Norma Jean Park reached double-figures with 12 kills while Bongo, Singer and Kylie Albertsen (Woodstock, Md./Marriots Ridge) each had five. Lopez came away with 18 digs with Banker picking up nine and Jordyn Park adding five.

Allgaier dished out 15 assists and had seven digs while Leah Guzick (Pottsville, Pa./Pottsville) reached double-figures with 10 assists.

The Red Devils move to 9-15 overall. They return home and to Centennial Conference action on Wednesday when they host McDaniel College on Military Appreciation Night at the Kline Center.
