(Gettysburg, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swimming team had a tough outing at Gettysburg College on Wednesday night, suffering a 121-82 setback.
Sophomore Katie Schmidt (Orono, Minn./Breck School) captured a win in the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.74) and led-off the second place 200 medley relay (1:55.13).
First-year Molly Sternick (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) touched the wall first in the 100 butterfly (1:00.15) and swam the lead leg of the winning 200 free relay, combining for a time of 1:45.41.
Sophomore Sammy Boswell (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) anchored the medley relay, adding silver medal performances in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events, posting marks of 25.74 and 55.56.
Classmate Olivia Lyman (Mount Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) won the 500 freestyle (5:15.02) and joined the free relay. She claimed silver in the 200 freestyle as well, posting a time of 1:59.98. Senior Emily Houser (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) was third in the 500 and swam the second leg of the free relay.
First-year Demetria Ruhl (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) was third in the individual medley (2:19.78) while classmate Samantha Florio (Stamford, Conn./Wilton) placed third in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.42).
Junior Brenna Nimkoff (Weston, Conn./Weston) swam to third in the 1000 freestyle (11:04.65) while Lindsay Robinson (Holland, Pa./Council Rock South) joined the medley relay and Madeline Callahan (Westtown, N.Y./Minisink Valley) anchored the free relay.
The Bullets improved to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils slip to 7-4 overall and 3-3 in the conference. They close out the dual-meet schedule on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Swarthmore College for a 1:00 pm start.
