Box Score (Elizabethtown, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback at Elizabethtown College on Monday night. The Blue Jays claimed the first two sets, 25-14, 25-14, before the Red Devils rallied but came up just short in the third set, 25-23.
The Red Devils put up a fight in the third, playing to a 12-12 tie and pulling even at 16, but an 8-0 run put the hosts in control. Dickinson made a final run, tying the match, 22-22. E'Town went on a 3-1 run to close out the match, 25-23.
Senior Norma Jean Park (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) led the Red Devils with seven kills, four digs, four blocks assists and a pair of aces. Classmate Erin Bongo (Rockaway, N.Y./Morris Knolls) tallied a team-high eight kills and picked up four digs.
First-year Kristin Allgaier (Reston, Va./South Lakes) handed out 11 assists while classmate Tatiana Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico / Colegio Puertorriqueno de Ninas) recorded 15 digs and two aces.
The Blue Jays improve to 10-3 overall while the Red Devils slip to 5-9 on the season. Dickinson travels to York College on Wednesday for a 7:00 pm match.
