#5/6 Ranked Blue Jays Slip by Devils 1-0

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team turned in an outstanding performance against the visiting Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins, ranked fifth and six in this week's national polls. Hopkins would escape with a 1-0 win, capitalizing on a penalty kick in the 18th minute.

Emily Maheras converted the PK to put the Blue Jays in front with the lone tally of the match.

The Red Devils were able to keep the Blue Jays in check for the remainder of the game, holding the visitors to just 12 shots on the afternoon.

The Blue Jays held a 12-6 advantage in shots and had a 4-0 edge in corners on the day.

The Devils forced a pair of saves from Rachel Lipschultz as Hopkins improved to 9-1 overall and 3-0 in the Centennial Conference.

Senior Mary Katherine Brosnan (Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan) turned away six shots on the afternoon for the Red Devils.

The Red Devils slip to 6-3-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the CC. The Red Devils are on the road on Saturday, traveling to Washington College for a 4:00 pm start.
