Box Score (Lancaster, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team pulled in front of host Ursinus, but the Bears rallied to claim a 3-2 decision on Wednesday night in Collegeville.
The Bears slipped way in the opening set, 25-23, to take an early lead. The Red Devils countered with identical scores of 25-20, to overtake Ursinus and lead 2-1.
Ursinus flipped the score in the fourth, holding off the Red Devils, 25-20 to force a fifth set. The Bears carried the momentum into the final game, escaping 15-11 to win the match.
First-year Emma Lange (Jupiter, Fla./Benjamin) had a big night for the Red Devils, recording a match-high 16 kills, adding two solo blocks, two assisted blocks and six digs. Jamie Singer (Livingston, N.J./Golda Och) reached double-figures with 10 kills, picking up six digs.
Sophomore libero Tatiana Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Puertorriqueno de Ninas) tallied 26 digs and had five assists while classmate Kristin Allgaier (Reston, Va./South Lakes) dished out 33 assists and finished with 16 digs.
Elise Butler (Chester Springs, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame) and Christina Chu (Hartsdale, N.Y./Ardsley) tallied 16 and 14 digs, respectively, and combined for five aces.
The Red Devils slip to 4-10 overall and 0-4 in the Centennial Conference. They are on the road again this weekend, traveling to the Gallaudet University Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
