Box Score (Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 setback to visiting #17-ranked Christopher Newport University at Miller Memorial Field on Wednesday afternoon.
Riley Cook put the Captains on the board in the 23rd minute, finishing an assist from Maggie Cochran.
Christopher Newport capitalized on an own goal in the 55th minute and Cook stretched the margin to 3-0, converting a penalty kick at the 65:03 mark.
The Red Devils answered to spoil the shutout in the 74th minute. Junior Elizabeth Krause (West Chester, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) found the net with an assist from first-year Sloan Maas (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends).
The Captains outshot the Red Devils 15-4 as senior goaltender Mary Katherine Brosnan (Old Tappan, Northern Valley Old Tappan) finished with eight saves on the night.
CNU improves to 3-0 on the year while the Red Devils suffer their first loss to move to 2-1. Dickinson is home again on Saturday, hosing York College at 1:00 pm.
