Box Score (Carlisle, Pa.) – The #17-ranked Dickinson women's soccer team remained unbeaten in Centennial Conference play, posting a 2-0 win over visiting Washington College on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore goaltender Carli Boyer (Silver Spring, Md./Bethesda-Chevy Chase) moved into a tie for fourth on the program single season list, recording her seventh shutout of the season.
The Red Devils struck early as Addy Zandi (West Chester, Pa./B. Reed Henderson) collected the ball at the top of the area, made a nice touch and put the ball in the back of the net, just 5:41 into the match.
First-year Caleigh Fletcher (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) made a strong showing, finishing an assist from classmate Meg Tate (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) in the 61st minute to double the lead to 2-0.
The Red Devils turned in a dominant performance, outshooting the Shorewomen, 18-4, and held a 9-1 advantage on corners.
Noah Smith finished with seven saves as Washington moves to 4-6-2 overall and 1-4-1 in the conference, playing to a scoreless draw with #7-ranked Johns Hopkins.
Boyer tallied a pair of saves for the Red Devils as they improved to 8-1-4 overall and 4-0-2 in the conference. They are home again on Wednesday night, hosting Penn State Harrisburg at 6:00 pm.
