Box Score (Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's volleyball team turned in another strong performance on Wednesday night but couldn't get past visiting Franklin & Marshall, falling 3-1.
The Red Devils had a great start, taking the opening set 25-22, behind solid net play from Morgan Biggs (Stephenson, Va./James Wood) and Jenna Schumann (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Germantown Academy).
The Red Devils fought tooth and nail through the next three sets, but the Diplomats were able to escape despite the valiant effort.
F&M pulled away at the end of the second to even the match with a 25-17 decision. Dickinson put up 22 points in the third before the Diplomats secured the win, 25-22, before taking the fourth 25-19.
Biggs led the attack with 11 kills and a pair of blocks. Schumann reached double-figures with 10 kills and 12 digs on the night. Sophomore Hanna Riley (Littlestown, Pa./Littlestown) added nine kills, four digs and three block assists.
Junior setter Kristin Allgaier (Reston, Va./South Lakes) dished out 30 assists and tallied 10 digs. Junior livebo Tatiana Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Puertorriqueno de Ninas) recorded a match-high 22 digs. Christina Chu (Hartsdale, N.Y./Ardsley) and Jacqueline Banker (Rockaway Park, N.Y./Archbishop Malloy) combined for 13 digs.
The Red Devils are on the road for a pair of matches on Saturday. They travel to Muhlenberg to face the Mules and will also take on De Sales University.
