Bradbury Scores Brace, but Devils Tie Mules

Box Score

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Isaac Bradbury tallied four shots and two goals on the afternoon to the Dickinson men's soccer team earn a 2-2 Centennial Conference draw at Muhlenberg College on Saturday afternoon.

Muhlenberg made their first attempt of the day count with Taylan Akdag beating Andrew Kempe for a 1-0 lead just 1:12 in. Dickinson looked to respond immediately after, but Chris Hackley was stopped by Zach Matik. The Mules had the next four chances with Kempe knocking away a shot from Akdag before he scored his second of the match on a feed from Phillip Bell. Luke Beiles tried to bring the Devils back into the match in the 16th-minute, but Matik shut the door. The Mules would have nine of the following ten shots with Kempe making consecutive saves against Jake Mendelson and Brandin Osborne. Three minutes before half Dickinson had a great chance to pull one back, unfortunately, Meron Tekeste was stopped by Matik and Nigel Woodroffe missed wide on the final kick of the half.

Kempe had to keep DC afloat early in the second half making stops against Stephen Carton (49:44) and Akdag (56:06) to keep things at 2-0. The Red Devils would then give themselves life in the 59th-minute as Bradbury rocketed a free-kick from just outside the box past Matik to cut the deficit to 2-1. Then, just 64 seconds later DC would draw level thanks to Bradbury's second of the day. Muhlenberg got back on the front foot right after that with Chris Richards and Tarin Morris test Kempe in the 64th. That woke Dickinson back up as the visitors recorded the final five shots of regulation with Max Matsumoto and Ronan Higgins forcing stops out of Matik leading to overtime.

The Mules began the overtime on the attack first with Morris having a shot stopped by Kempe at the 2:10 mark, which was followed 21 seconds later by Bradbury bidding for the hat trick only to be shutdown by Matik. With 2:18 left in the first extra period, Kempe would be called on one more time when Richards let a shot fly towards goal. In the second period, Muhlenberg outshot the Devils four to one, with Mack Moore getting the last chance of the match with five ticks left only to be denied by Matik.
