SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's soccer team fired ten shots and forced seven saves out of Swarthmore keeper Lillian Keller, but were unable to dent the scoreboard as the Garnet earned a pivotal 1-0 Centennial Conference win on Saturday night.

The Devils were on the front foot right away with Lily Schmitt and Meg Tate forcing stops out of Keller in the opening five minutes. Swarthmore got their opening chance at the 10:08 mark when Rebecca Putnam sent one over the bar. Tate would test Keller once again in the 24th-minute, but she was up to the task. Devils goalie Sophia Kavulich was called upon on the next two shots as she turned away Abby Chang and Megan Ruoff. With 34:01 gone Tate once again got free for a blast, however, Keller shut her down for the third time in the half. Two minutes later Kavulich made sure that things went to the break locked at 0-0 when said no to Amelia Mounts. 

The Garnet had the first two shots of half number with Allie Zitelli and Mounts getting denied by Kavulich. It would take until the 67th-minute for Dickinson to have a look at goal when Emma Cooney found herself inside the box but was stopped by Keller. There would not be another shot until the 72:38 mark when Anwyn Urquhart settled a bouncing ball and bent a shot around Kavulich into the net for a 1-0 lead. DC applied the pressure the remainder of the match with Lauren Bracken and Tate each missing the target. However, Dickinson was not done as Sarah Cudmore had two more shots at Keller in the final minute to try and draw level, unfortunately, the keeper stood tall to preserve the win as well as the clean sheet.

The Devils will face a stiff test on Wednesday when they travel to Baltimore to face No. 2 Johns Hopkins in a pivotal Centennial Conference match in Dickinson's playoff chase. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
