Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Dickinson volleyball team concluded their second day at the Mustangs Classic hosted by Stevenson University with a pair of setbacks on Saturday afternoon. First, the Devils fell in straight sets to Mary Washington, before losing a well-played five-setter to DeSales at Owings Mills Gym.

Match One - Eagles 3, Red Devils 0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-23)

Mary Washington got out to a quick start taking an 8-2 lead early in the first. Emma Lange, Alexa Barowski, and Christina Chu helped Dickinson battle back to trail 11-8. After UMW stretched the lead to 15-8, Jenna Schumann, Morgan Biggs, and Barowski brought the margin back to three at 17-15. The Red Devils kept fighting and eventually found themselves within 23-20, but could get no closer.

Hannah Riley and Schumann gave DC the advantage to begin the second at 4-2. However, Aidan Finnegan and Jordan Lyons rallied the troops and pulled the Eagles level at 11-11. UMW continued their charge with a 9-2 run making it 20-13, with Schumann providing the offense for the Devils. Biggs and Lange would put away points for DC the rest of the set, but ultimately UMW closed out a 25-17 win.

For the second game in a row the Red Devils started strong as Chu, Biggs and Schumann put down kills for a 9-2 advantage. DC continued to keep the Eagles at an arms length away with an Emma Popham kill making it 10-3, but a 12-6 push from UMW brought them to even 16-16. Elise Butler, Lange and Popham gave the Devils hope that they could send the match to a fourth set, but with the score 23-23 the Eagles earned the next two points for the match.
