CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swimming team claimed two wins and multiple Top-3 finishes in their home opener on Friday night against Centennial Conference foe Gettysburg College at the Clarke Aquatic Center. Unfortunately, for the Red and White they would fall to the Bullets by a margin of 150-53.
In the first race of the meet the 400-yard medley relay the unit of
Bella Gerkin,
Anna Gnagey,
Emma Johnston and
Norah Wilson posted a 4:14.07 for fourth, while
Lillie Deaton Connor,
Sydney Farling,
Sarah McHenry and Isobell O'Connell clocked in at 4:22.36 in fifth.
The Devils first win of the day came in the 1000-yard freestyle when
Tori May got to the wall first in 11:06.45.Â
Johnston rounded out the Top-3 for the 200-yard freestyle by posting a time of 2:01.27.
Molly Whitaker stopped the clock at 2:12.54 to claim sixth.Â
Wilson landed in second during the 50-yard freestyle with a mark of 26.35, followed two places later by Farling (26.95).Â
Gerkin was the lone Devil involved in the 200-yard individual medley hitting the wall in 2:28.59 for fourth.
Johnston claimed the second win of the meet for DC with a 1:01.88 during the 100-yard butterfly, while Mulcahy finished fourth (1:04.92).Â
O'Connell and
Carolyn Wolujewicz swam together within the six-competitor field for the 100-yard freestyle occupying third (58.87) and fourth (1:00.98) respectively.
A trio of Dickinson athletes did battle in the 100-yard backstroke as May landed in third (1:02.45), followed by McHenry (5th - 1:04.21) and Connor (6th - 1:05.58).
Gnagey locked up second during the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:18.03. Whitaker was also involved in the event posting a 5:56.65 for sixth.
Farling and Gerkin rounded out the field for the 100-yard breaststroke by touching the wall in 1:13.83 (5th) and 1:14.01 (6th).
The team of Gnagey, May, O'Connell and Wilson earned third in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a 1:45.46, while the unit made up of McHenry, Mulcahy, Whitaker and Wolujewicz held down fifth (1:52.47).

Dickinson (1-4) returns to action next Saturday at 12 pm on the road when the Red and White visit Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
