Devils and Fords Share the Spoils in Carlisle

CARLISLE, Pa. - Despite having the better of the play over the 90 minutes, the Dickinson men's soccer team was held without a goal for the third consecutive match and the fourth time this season as the Devils and Haverford College played to a 0-0 Centennial Conference draw at Miller Memorial Field on Saturday night.

Inside the opening 20 minutes of the match both teams were able to record shots as Haverford got attempts from Tomas Ascoli, Andrew Fritz, Max Mouer and Thomas Vanni, while Tyson Burling and Ethan Jarden took chances for the home side. However, all six of those opportunities missed the target. It would take until the 24th-minute for a team to test one of the keepers as Kieran Kunihiro was denied by Alexander Henrich. Dickinson tried to apply some pressue later in the frame, but Finn Weber, Jackson Wolf and Burling could not bother Dylan Ioffreda in the Fords net. With 33-seconds left in the half, Haverford got one final look at goal as Alex Millones was stopped by Henrich to send the match to halftime.

It took more than ten minutes to see the first shot of half number two when Weber worked his way loose for a shot, unfortunately it sailed over the net. Weber then had another chance in the 73, but was unable to steer the offering at Ioffreda. The visitors finally tallied their first opportunity of the period with 74:31 off the clock as Ascoli was shutdown by Henrich. After shots by Gabe Knopf and Cyrus Nasseri missed the mark Weber had a chance beat to side by Ioffreda, while Alex Spiegel headed a ball just wide off a corner kick in the 83rd. Each keeper notched one more save on the night with Henrich denying Aidan Lacy, followed by Ioffreda making a diving stop on Burling. Dickinson recorded two more shots over the final final minutes, but both Luke Finkielstein and Burling could not get the ball to the keeper sealing the 0-0 draw.
