CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's volleyball team pushed their win streak to three on Wednesday night by holding off a valiant effort from the visiting McDaniel College Green Terror posting a 3-0 conference victory inside the Kline Center.
- Things started off well for the home side with aces by Alexa Barowski and Grace Coccagna along with a kill for Amelia Kim making it 5-1.
- Four different members of the Green Terror recorded kills during a 10-3 romp to jump ahead 11-8.
- Points out of the hands of Emery Fishbach, Eliette Whittaker, Barowski and Kim helped DC to hold the margin at just three at 16-13.
- A kill for Jessica Currie then kicked off a string of nine straight for the Devils as Mallie Thomas, Barowski and Whittaker joined in the fun to take a 22-16 advantage.
- McDaniel did not go away though embarking on a 6-1 charge to get within one (23-22), before a Whittaker kill and mishit for Angalyn Strouse gave DC a 25-22 win.
- Once again Dickinson was out of the gates fast with Barowski, Currie and Kim taking seven of the opening ten points.
- The group of Abigayle Bowley, Allyson Burgee, Nia Roberts and Strouse brought MC all the way back to even at 9-9.
- Three visitors miscues and a solo kill for Kim made it 13-11 DC, but Burgee and Young answered right back to push MC ahead 15-13.
- Five of the ensuing seven belonged to the Red and White as Cassidy Davis, Camille Dofiles and Fishbach provided the offense for the slim 18-17 edge.
- After three consecutive points for the guests, Avery Butcher, Barowski, Fishbach and Kim did just enough to hold off the Terror taking the frame 25-23.
- McDaniel seemed determined to make the match go four sets early as Katherine Taveras, Bowley, Burgee, Roberts and Young putting them ahead 10-4.
- The Devils attempted to rally back with kills by Barowski, Currie, Davis and Whittaker cutting the deficit down to just one at 14-13.
- Despite points for Davis, Kim and Whittaker the Red and White still found themselves behind by a score of 19-16.
- The remainder of the match belonged to the hosts as Barowski, Davis, Dofiles, Kim and Whittaker all recorded kills during a 9-2 match-ending run (25-21).
