LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swimming team started off their 2024-25 campaign on Saturday afternoon by taking part in the Centennial East Quad Meet hosted by Franklin & Marshall College inside the Kunkel Aquatic Center. The Red and White secured a win against Ursinus College (138-109), but fell to Franklin & Marshall College (145-111) and Washington College (Md.) (144-111).
The day began with the unit of
Bella Gerkin,
Anna Gnagey,
Caitlin Gross and
Sarah Mulcahy taking third with a time of 1:53.46. In sixth-place came
Madeline Dold,
Sydney Farling,
Izzy Klonsky and
Sarah McHenry (1:58.35).
Tori May dominated the field for the 1000-yard freestyle winning by over eight seconds after stopping the clock in 11:03.02.
Dickinson's second win of the day came in the 200-yard freestyle thanks to Gnagey finishing in 1:57.51, while
Meghan Schmidt claimed sixth (2:05.66).
McHenry completed the podium for the 100-yard backstroke by reaching the wall in 1:03.45.
The duo of Gerkin and Farling swam together during the 100-yard breaststroke posting marks of 1:12.88 (3rd) and 1:15.39 (4th) respectively.
Mulcahy grabbed second-place for the 200-yard butterfly after hitting the wall at 2:20.27, followed by Klonsky in sixth (2:28.31).
Gross collected another podium spot for the Red and White during the 50-yard freestyle claiming third in 25.49, while Dold landed in eighth (26.46).Â
The pair of Schmidt and Dold fell just outside the Top-5 for the 100-yard freestyle clocking in at 57.64 (6th) and 58.84 (7th) respectively.
May nabbed her second victory of the meet during the 200-yard backstroke as her time of 2:10.90 was better than the rest of the field by three seconds. McHenry also took to the pool for the event stopping the clock in 2:19.22 (6th).
Gerkin secured another Top-3 result for the Red and White claiming third in the 200-yard breaststroke by hitting the wall in 2:41.73, while Farling finished off the Top-5 with a 2:42.06.
Gross and Mulcahy put forth a strong effort for the 500-yard freestyle occupying sixth (5:41.76) and ninth (5:55.92).
Gnagey collected another victory for the Devils in the 100-yard butterfly posting a time of 59.40, followed by Klonsky in fifth (1:04.48).
May claimed second during the 200-yard individual medley by touching the pad at 2:18.96. Mulcahy placed just outside the Top-5 in sixth (2:26.04).
The team of Dold, Gnagey, Gross and Schmidt seized third in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:45.55. The other DC team with Farling, Gerkin, Klonsky and McHenry grabbing ninth hitting the wall in 4:03.86.

The Red and White (1-2, 1-2 Centennial) will welcome Swarthmore College to the Clarke Aquatic Center on Saturday afternoon at 1pm for the Home Opener..
