Devils Drop Season Finale to Mules

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Dickinson field hockey team saw their 2024 season come to a close on Saturday afternoon with a visit to Muhlenberg College for a Centennial Conference matchup. Unfortunately for the Red and White a 47th-minute goal by Becca Woods would not be enough to secure the win as the Mules took the contest 3-1 at Scotty Wood Stadium.

  • Maddie Schwartz went between the pipes for MC to start the frame and was immediately tested by Anna Snyder, however, she came up with the save.\
  • Over the next three minutes the Devils earned three penalty corners and recorded one shot thanks to Natalie Slusser which was blocked by the defense.
  • Just before the halftime horn sounded the hosts extended the gap to 2-0 when Morrow denied Erin DiSandro, but the ball kicked back out to Erin Jackson who sent a return pass to DiSandro for the finish.

  • 35-seconds into the period Uebele inserted another corner this time to Megan McClure who let a shot fly, but Schwartz shut her down.

  • Leard returned to goal for the Mules to begin the fourth and was solved by Woods 62 seconds in when Uebele set her up for the strike.
  • At the 5:47 mark the Devils had the opportunity to draw even, but the chance for Maggie Carson was blocked.
  • The Mules had the ensuing three chances leading to a pair of stops for Morrow keeping it at 2-1 as the game entered the final five minutes.
  • A corner played to Sammi Moonay from Sophia Pereira resulted in a shot that did not get to Leard.
  • Unfortunately, for Dickinson it would be Muhlenberg that found the final goal of the game when Devon Eastlack and DiSandro combined to setup Abba Diglio for the 3-1 final.
