CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's volleyball team looked to take another massive step towards a postseason berth on Saturday as the Ursinus College entered the Kline Center on Senior Day. Unfortunately, for the Red and White it would be the Bears that claimed the 3-0 conference victory.
- The visitors came out on fire as they jumped out to a 10-3 lead with DC points coming from Amelia Kim and Mallie Thomas.
- An ace and kill by Thomas coupled with scores for Alexa Barowski and Kim cut the deficit by just one at 14-8.
- Eliette Whittaker and Kim joined together to make it 15-10, but then Daejah Bazemore and Mel Eglinton helped to score the next five (20-10).
- Dickinson claimed four of the next seven thanks to Jessica Currie, Barowski and Thomas to leave the score at 23-14.
- The Red and White continued to battle hard with Lora Flynn, Barowski, Kim and Whittaker ripping off eight in a row to pull within 23-22.
- However, the visitors took the next two for the set.
- The two sides were trading points early with Barowski, Kim and Thomas tallying for the Red and White to leave the score at 10-8 UC.
- Caroline Sherman, Bazemore and Eglinton responded with a 9-3 charge as Avery Butcher, Thomas and Whittaker supplying the DC offense (19-12).
- A trio of attacking miscues along with a trio of Kim kills trimmed the gap to 21-18.
- Whittaker put down a point off a feed from Flynn, but UC answered with four in a row to take it 25-19.
- Dickinson would jump out to a 6-4 edge thanks to Flynn, Kim, Thomas and Whittaker.
- After the Bears took four of the next five, Kim and Thomas nabbed six of eight to hold a 13-10 lead.
- Emery Fishbach, Thomas and Whittaker allowed DC to maintain a three-point cushion 16-13.
- Lexi Couch, Alonna McCummings, Reena Robinson, Eglinton and Sherman came charging back for the Bears with a 9-3 outburst to make it 22-19 visitors.
- Dickinson battled all the way back to 24-24 thanks to the trio of Fishbach, Kim and Thomas.
- However, an error and Sherman kill closed out the set and match (26-24).
