CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swimming team closed out their 2023-24 home slate on Saturday afternoon by collecting a dozen wins en route to a dominating 161-61 Centennial Conference victory over the visiting McDaniel College inside the Clarke Aquatic Center.
The meet began with the Red and White claiming the Top-3 spots in the 200-yard medley relay as the unit of
Lillie Deaton Connor,
Sydney Farling, Isobell O'Connell and
Norah Wilson winning the race in 1:59.99. In second-place came
Anna Gnagey,
Emma Johnston,
Annelyse Warner and
Molly Whitaker at 2:00.20, barely holding off the quartet of
Bella Gerkin,
Sarah McHenry,
Sarah Mulcahy and
Carolyn Wolujewicz (2:00.62).
Tori May was the solo act for the 1000-yard freestyle clocking in at 10:57.26.
Connor took the title in the 200-yard freestyle by getting to the wall in 2:10.10, while Warner secured third (2:17.01).
O'Connell finished second during the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:07.44.
It was a "one-two" DC finish for the 100-yard breaststroke as Mulcahy collected the victory at 1:13.30, followed by right behind by Whitaker (1:15.11).
Johnston picked up another victory for Dickinson in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:15.96.
Dickinson once again took up the Top-2 spots for the 50-yard freestyle as Farling won the event in 27.19, while Wolujewicz nabbed second (28.25).
Two of the Top-3 slots were held by Devils in the 100-yard freestyle with Wilson collecting the win thanks to a time of 57.32, followed two places back by Warner at 1:04.32.
The podium was full of DC athletes during the 200-yard backstroke as McHenry, Wolujewicz and O'Connell posted times of 2:18.44, 2:24.59 and 2:29.84 respectively.
Gerkin secured another Dickinson triumph for the 200-yard breaststroke by touching the wall in 2:42.81, which held off May by almost five seconds (2:47.24).
A duo of Devils were involved in the 500-yard freestyle with Mulcahy taking second (5:41.84) and Whitaker claiming third (5:43.29).
Gnagey picked up the victory during the 100-yard butterfly with a 1:02.57, followed a few ticks back by Connor at 1:05.50.
Three members of the Red and White were in the pool for the 200-yard individual medley with Wilson locking up her second individual win of the day by clocking in at 2:21.55. Farling (3rd - 2:29.16) and Gerkin (4th - 2:34.15) also competed in the race.
The team of Gnagey, Johnston, May and McHenry capped off the day with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay by stopping the timer in 1:48.01.

Dickinson will now have to wait until Thursday, February 22nd to return to competition when they take part in day one of the Centennial Conference Championships at Bullet Pool on the campus of Gettysburg College.
