CHESTERTOWN, Pa. - The Dickinson women's lacrosse team was outscored a combined 15-6 over the middle two frames on Saturday afternoon by the host Washington College allowing the Shorewomen to hold a 15-9 lead entering the fourth. However, the Red and White were not deterred tallying seven times in the final quarter to force overtime, but it would not be enough as MaryCate Anson scored 22-seconds into the OT to claim the 17-16 conference win.
The two sides shared the opening six shots of the game with

Emma Wynne struck with a free-position tally to hold a 3-0 edge through 15 minutes.
The keepers were each tested within the first two minutes with VanDorpe turning away Morgan Sutherland, while Seashole told Herbert no. That opened the door for the hosts to find their first two goals of the game thanks to Tobin Chambers and Piper Evans. Dickinson would then respond with the of the game for Whiteside to push the cushion back to two (4-2) with 11:37 left. Over the next three minutes each side hit the back of the cage once with Chambers and Guckes scoring for their respective sides. However, the final five minutes of the half was all Shorewomen as after VanDorpe made a save on Chambers the home team scored on their next five shots lead 8-5 at the break.
Chambers finished off her hat trick with the first marker of the third with 2:26 gone, before Guckes cashed in for DC to leave it at 9-6. WAC pushed the margin to four through Anna Wilson, but after
Ali Broome knocked the ball loose from Ashley Devlin the Red and White got another one by Herbert to make it 10-7. The Shorewomen then embarked on a four-goal run ending on a free-position shot for Abby Laubach to double-up the Devils at 14-7 inside the final four minutes. Dickinson ended the period with two of the final three tallies courtesy of Wynne and Barroll (Herbert assist) to bring the Red and White within 15-9 through 45 minutes.
Dickinson needed just 1:23 of the fourth quarter to record three draw control wins by Whiteside leading to goals from both Wynne and Guckes making it 15-11. After each goalie notched three more saves over the six minutes the two teams traded goals in a minute span with Geary (Guckes assist) and Mia Salvatierra burying the rock for their respective sides leaving the gap at 16-12 with six minutes to play. The remainder of the frame belonged to the Devils as Herbert struck twice, while the duo of Wynne and Geary (Barroll assist) tickled the twine once each to bring the guests level 16-16 forcing bonus lacrosse.
