CARLISLE, Pa. - The fifth-ranked Dickinson men's soccer team got goals from three different players, including a brace from
Ethan Jarden to continue their roll as they romped past the visiting Goucher College Gophers by a final score of 5-0 at Miller Memorial Field on Wednesday night.
- The opening ten minutes was all Dickinson as Johnny Diederich, Luke Finkielstein, Austin Holloway, Saul Iwowo and Ethan Jarden each recording a shot and forcing one stop out of Ale Sternini.Â
- The offensive pressure then went dry until the 16th minute as Finkielstein tasked Sternini with making another save.Â
- However, less than a minute later it became 1-0 as Nicholas Dwamena found the reigning Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week Daniel Spataro for a brilliant right-footed finish into the upper corner.
- Following the goal, Dickinson continued to blast away towards goal with Timi Omoniwa asking two questions of Sternini, before Iwowo ripped four shots himself.
- Goucher finally found some rhythm and let two shots fly, but neither bothered Aidan George in goal.Â
- Tyson Burling, Westin Fryberger and Omoniwa all let offerings go over the remaining ten minutes of the frame as Sternini did not have to make another save.
- Dickinson came out of the break firing on all cylinders as Jarden sandwiched his brace around a finish from Omoniwa off a pass from Spataro to make it 4-0 less than four minutes in.Â
- Following the three goal barrage George was replaced between the sticks by Gavin Marr.
- Connor Uitterdijk and Jackson Wolf joined the shooting gallery towards Sternini, but neither tested the Gopher keeper as the match entered the 75th minute.Â
- That would be when the Devils made it 5-0 as a corner kick played into the box glanced off the head of a Goucher defender and ended up in the net.
- With ten minutes remaining Josh Bouchard became the third keeper to take to the pitch for the Red and White.
- Shane Mundorf, Chaz Smith and Nicky Williams also added chance, but could not find the back of the net as the match ended 5-0.
- On the night the Devils held a 31-4 edge in shots (9-1 on target).
