Mobray's First All Devils Need in CC Opener

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Dickinson women's soccer first-year Madison Mobray buried her first of season five minutes from halftime and the Devils defense held the fort the rest of the way as the Red and White nabbed a 1-0 conference opening win over Washington College at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium.

Template - 1st Half
  • The Devils were under pressure early as Sophia Kavulich had to record a pair of saves inside the opening 20 minutes denying Maddy Gaydon and Reagan Longridge.
  • Dickinson then had the next four chances with Lauren Ervin, Ashley McSweeney, Katie Vassilakos and Mobray were unable to ask questions of Shorewomen keeper Olivia Allen as the game remained scoreless.
  • Then with 39:57 gone the visitors made it 1-0 as Ellie Nordwind played a pass through to Mobray who beat Allen.
  • Kalieigh Brady and Mckenna Gross each tallied a shot over the remainder of the period, but neither bothered the keepers.
Template - 2nd Half
  • For the second frame in a row it was the Devils who felt the early pressure as Kavulich made four saves against Brady (2), Gaydon and Longridge inside the first ten minutes.
  • It took until the 64:50 mark for Dickinson to record their first chance when Gross missed the mark, followed by wide attempts from Maddie St. Amand and Ervin.
  • Kavulich would be called upon one more time to preserve the cleansheet beating aside an attempt from Kayla Streett to allow DC to hold on for the win.
