Dynamic Duo of Blackman and Marion Post Double-Doubles in Win Over Fords

CARLISLE, Pa. - Senior guards Caitlin Blackman and Clair Marion combined for 30 points and 26 rebounds, while classmate Jenna Weinstein added 12 points as the Red and White knocked off conference foe Haverford College by a score of 64-50 inside the Kline Center.

Template - 1st Quarter
  • With the visitors holding a 4-1 lead early in the game, buckets from Victoria Zerbe and Weinstein put the hosts ahead for the first time at 5-4 with four minutes gone.
  • Six of the next eight went to the Fords as they went ahead 10-7.
  • However, a Weinstein layup and triple from Blackman had the game locked up at 12-12 after one.
Template - 2nd Quarter
  • It took over three minutes to see the first points of the frame as a pair of Lizzie McGrath triples inside of a minute span helped to give the Devils an 18-16 edge.
  • Back-to-back finishes for Jakway gave Haverford a 20-18 lead, but a three-ball from Blackman and layup by Emma Landes off a Blackman feed put DC back in front 23-20 in the final minute.
  • Grace Leverton would beat the horn with a driving layup to leave the deficit at just one 23-22 going to the break.

  • Dickinson opened up the period on a 9-2 run with contributions coming from Blackman, Weinstein and Zerbe making the score 32-24 at the 3:12 mark.
  • Caroline Orza and Jakway joined up to provide a response for Haverford to get within 35-31 with 3:43 to play.
  • The senior trio of Blackman, Marion and Weinstein continued to hold the Fords at bay over the next couple of minutes with the lead going to five at 42-37.
  • The final ten seconds would see two baskets as Jakway converted a layup, but Marion splashed down from long-range at the horn to take a 45-39 advantage into the fourth.

  • Clare Cronley, Ella Smith, Blackman and Marion aided a 12-3 rampage for the Devils over the first six minutes making it 57-42.
  • Five points for Orza and a layup by Siena Emuobor chipped into the deficit a little bit leaving the score at 60-49 with 33-seconds to play.
  • Two free throws each by Mia Chapman and Marion helped DC close out the 64-50 final.
