CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's basketball team tried to pick up their second straight conference win on Wednesday night as they welcomed the ninth-ranked Bullets of Gettysburg College to the Kline Center. Unfortunately, for the Red and White they hung tough early, but the guests were able to pull away late for the 60-41 win.
- Things started out pretty well for the home side as a triple by Clair Marion and two foul shots from Jenna Weinstein made it 5-3 DC with just over three minutes gone.
- Buckets for Alayna Arnolie, Jameson Mott and Tatum Murray aided a 7-2 push to take a 10-7 edge with 3:02 left.
- The teams traded the final eight points as jumpers from Lizzie McGrath and Ella Smith had the Devils behind 14-11 after one.
- After an early layup by Shinya Lee, points for Marion and Weinstein trimmed the gap to 16-14 at the 1:53 mark.
- Five of the next seven went to GC with Victoria Zerbe supplying the lone points for the hosts leaving it at 21-16 with half of the period gone.
- A triple by McGrath stopped the push, but the Bullets stormed ahead to a 27-19 halftime lead thanks to a 6-0 sprint over the final 3:21.
- The duo of Marion and Zerbe accounted for five of the first eight points of the period cutting the margin to 30-24 with 2:42 gone.
- Arnolie and Lee answered back with a 6-0 run to grow the lead out to 36-24.
- Marion tallied the next six points for DC to get within 40-32 inside the final minute.
- A layup by Skylar Reale and free throw by Lee made it 43-32 with 30 minutes in the books.
- An Abby John foul shot and layup for Weinstein were the only Dickinson points over the opening seven minutes as the Bullets went on a 13-3 outburst making it 56-35.
- McGrath, Weinstein and Zerbe each recorded a bucket for the Devils down the stretch, but it was not enough as the Bullets finished off the 60-41 win.
