BRYN MAWR, Pa.. - The Dickinson women's basketball team outscored the host Bryn Mawr College 44-13 over the second and third quarters to turn around an early 6-0 deficit into a dominating 74-40 Centennial Conference victory at the Class of 1958 Gymnasium.
- The trio of Michelle Jiang, Cameron Richter and Jessica Smith got the home team off to a great start as they led 6-0 with 1:42 gone.
- Then, Clair Marion took things into her own hands for the Red and White embarking on a personal 9-2 outburst to claim a 9-8 edge at the halfway point.
- Hannah Mack delivered from deep for the Owls, before Lizzie McGrath and Jenna Weinstein each knocked down a jumper while Marion dropped her third triple of the frame to take a 16-11 edge after one.
- The Devils just kept on rolling early in the frame as Mia Chapman, Marion, McGrath and Weinstein went on a 10-0 run over the first 2:31 to make it 26-11.
- The two sides traded the next eight points with Molly Heron and Abby John tallying for the Red and White, while Smith collected a pair of buckets for Bryn Mawr (30-15).
- Six different DC players picked up a basket over the remainder of the period as Caitlin Blackman, Leah Dubin, Gabby Smelcer, Heron, John and Weinstein contributed on a 12-1 run pushing the advantage to 42-16 at the break.
- Dickinson's dominance continued through the opening three minutes with Blackman, Chapman, Marion and Weinstein racking up ten of the first eleven (52-17).
- A layup for Mack slowed the roll for a second, but Ella Smith and Marion answered right back to make the lead 56-19 with exactly five minutes off the clock.
- After a 5-0 BMC sprint paced by four points for Smith, Blackman and John both drilled a jumper to extend the gap to 60-24 with a period to play.
- Two layups for Emma Landes and one bucket each for Heron and McGrath helped DC to grab a 42-point advantage at 68-26 with 5:51 left.
- A Victoria Zerbe layup would be the lone DC basket during a 9-2 charge from the Owls to cut the margin down to 70-35.
- Addison Cadwell and Esther Nlebemuo each made their way onto the scoresheet late in the quarter to close out the 74-40 win.
