CARLISLE, Pa. - The ninth-ranked Dickinson men's was on the attack early and often on Saturday afternoon against the visiting Haverford College as the Red and White possessed an 18-2 shot advantage over the course of 90 minutes. Unfortunately, for the Red and White the tenth marker of the year from
Saul Iwowo in the 70th-minute was only good enough to salvage a 1-1 draw in a battle of unbeaten sides at Miller Memorial Field.
First Half
- Dickinson needed just three minutes to record three shots with chances coming from Timi Omoniwa (2) and Jeremy Sallade, but none of them got to HC keeper Grayson Benson.
- Haverford would take the next two shots with Kieran Kunihiro missing to the right in the sixth, before Jonathan D'Amour dented Nick Potter for a 1-0 lead with 15:28 gone.
- The remainder of the frame saw DC tally four attempts as the trio of Ethan Jarden, Iwowo and Sallade were unable to a question of Benson leading to the final horn.
Second Half
- Four minutes into the period the home side finally tested Benson as he shutdown Jarden, before denying Sallade ten minutes later.
- Haverford feeling the pitch starting to tip the way of Devils upped the physicality leading to yellow cards for Gabe Knopf in the 60th and Carter Kroenke just over a minute later.
- Nicholas Dwamena forced a stop out of Benson with 65:36 gone, while Jarden sent one just wide left of the goal to keep it at just 1-0.
- If you keep giving a top team chances odds are they will eventually the case and that is exactly what happen for the Devils as Iwowo struck with 20 minutes left to level the match.
- With 15 minutes left Dickinson was given a huge opportunity to claim all three points as Jack Bonner was issued a red card putting the home side a player up.
- The Red and White would post four shots after Bonner was sent off, but Benson was able to step up big collecting two more saves to preserve the 1-1 draw.
