Kim Eclipses 1,000 Career Points as Devils Kick Past Mules

CARLISLE, Pa. - Senior Amelia Kim broke the 1,000 career point plateau on Wednesday night as the Dickinson volleyball team posted a 3-1 Centennial Conference win over the visiting Muhlenberg College at Kline Center.

First Set Second set
  • Scores for Kim, Oppenheim, Thomas and Whittaker made it 6-4 home team.
  • Kelliann Keogh and Christina Marcin combined for four of the next six to draw even (8-8).
  • The teams then traded 4-0 spurts with Emery Fishbach, Dofiles and Kim keeping things locked at 12-12.
  • Kim, Oppenheim, Thomas and Whittaker kept DC right in it as they trailed by one (19-18).
  • A kill by Andrea Romero-Agosto put the Mules one point from the set 24-20, but Avery Butcher, Oppenheim and Thomas brought the hosts to within 24-23. 
  • Unfortunately, Romero-Agosto put down the final kill of the frame (25-23).
Third Set
  • The duo of Ansley Asche and Marcin had the Mules ahead 4-3, before Currie, Fishbach, Thomas and Whittaker went on an 11-2 push to take a 14-6 edge.
  • Two kills each for Kim and Thomas coupled with a solo from Oppenheim gave the Devils the 19-12 advantage.
  • Muhlenberg closed the gap to 19-15, but three Currie kills along with scores for Butcher and Fishbach capped off a 6-1 run to end the set (25-16).
Fourth Set
  • The sides shared the 16 points (8-8) with the Devils picking up kills from Amanda Palo, Currie, Fishbach, Kim and Thomas.
  • Natalia Agnolet and Keogh made it 12-9 visitors, before points by Oppenheim and Whittaker brought the Devils within 16-15.
  • Muhlenberg pushed the gap back to three (19-16) thanks to kills for Asche, Agnolet and Marcin.
  • However, Dickinson responded in a big way with Kylie Schner setting up the trio of Kim, Thomas and Whittaker for kills during the 9-2 charge to wrapup the match at 25-21.
