CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's basketball team went into the break on Saturday afternoon trailing 33-28, but erupted for 42 points over the second-half to pull away from the visiting Washington College Shoremen by a score of 70-48 in Centennial Conference action inside the Kline Center.
- Triples for Isaiah Edmond and Brandon Wiercinski coupled with two foul shots by Joey Dopirak gave the home side a 10-2 lead just over four minutes in.
- After Ben Costello split two at the charity line, a paint jumper from Edmond followed by a three-ball out of the hands of Matt Mahoney made it 15-3 with 7:46 gone.
- The next six points went the way of the Shoremen, before David Petrusev, Luis Ruiz and Edmond tallied six of the next eight pushing the gap to 21-11 still with 7:51 to play.
- David Bland would then rack up the first seven points of a 16-3 visitors push to jump ahead 27-24 at the 13:01 mark.
- Four points for Petrusev did not allow the Devils to close the gap as triples by Ryan Lang and Bland gave WAC a 33-28 lead at the break.
- Dickinson would break the game open early in the period as layups for Edmond and Petrusev coupled with a trey from Wiercinski gave the hosts a 35-33 edge with two minutes gone.
- The Red and White just continued to pile on as buckets for Ryan Leskauskas, Juan Ruiz, Edmond, Mahoney and Petrusev aided a 19-2 outburst making the lead 54-35 with 5:42 left.
- After missing their first 17 shots from the field, the Shoremen got a jumper from Bland at the 14:40 mark. However, a three for Wiercinski along with four straight by Edmond opened the gap to 61-37 (3:32).
- A triple out of the hands of Bland stalled the charge for a second, but Dopirak and Mahoney responded with four in a row to make it 65-40.Â
- Washington would end the game on an 8-5 push with the Devils baskets coming from Bryce Donovan and Tyler Lawrence to set the 70-48 final.
