NEW ORLEANS – The Dickinson College men's track and field team was recognized on two fronts Monday afternoon by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA). First rising senior,
Trevor Richwine and rising sophomore
Franklyn Akabi-During were selected as members of the All-Academic Team, with Richwine being tabbed as the Scholar Track Athlete of the Year. In addition to the individual accomplishments the Red and White were named an All-Academic Team.
To earn All-Academic Team status, the cumulative grade-point average of all student-athletes who used a season of eligibility must be at least 3.10. The women's team posted 3.62 GPA, while the men came in with 3.35 GPA. In order to qualify as an individual the athlete must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher, in addition to ranking among the top-50 individuals or top-35 relay units in the nation
The whole team grabbed the award thanks to a strong cumulative GPA of 3.41.
