Summer Check-In
Where are you working/interning this summer? Company and Location.
I’m working as a Marketing Intern for CoachTube, an Austin, Texas-based online platform that provides training courses from top coaches in sports across all levels. However, I am working remotely from Italy while staying with family.
Please describe your day-to-day responsibilities in this position.
My responsibilities include writing and editing SEO-optimized blog content, onboarding coaches, e-mail marketing, creating online courses for coaches, writing product descriptions and bios, and more. We have team meetings on Google Meet daily.
What made this experience appealing to you?
As a student-athlete and aspiring marketer, the chance to combine my passion for sports with creative work in content marketing was the perfect fit. CoachTube’s mission to make elite coaching accessible really resonated with me.
How does this experience relate to your career or life aspirations? What are you looking to personally get out of it?
I hope to pursue a career in sports marketing or brand strategy, so this role gives me hands-on experience in writing for a target audience, analyzing user engagement, and contributing to brand growth. I’m looking to walk away with stronger marketing skills and a clearer sense of how I can make an impact in the sports industry.
How has your athletics career prepared you for this role?
Working in the softball and baseball department, I onboard coaches and write blog content that breaks down drills, strategies, and player development, so my knowledge of the game is actively used every day. Being a collegiate athlete gives me the credibility, discipline, and communication skills to connect with coaches and approach projects with focus.
What are you looking forward to for this upcoming year for your sport?
I’m excited to return to the field with my teammates and continue building on the culture and momentum we’ve been creating. I am so looking forward to playing one last season and growing as leaders with my fellow seniors!
Is there anything else you are looking forward to this summer outside of this experience?
Because I am working remotely, my job allows me to work from any location. I am taking this opportunity to live with family in Italy while I continue to work, and also traveling in my free time.
