Pitching Decision - W - Lilly Goldberg (15-3) | L - Erin Mcmahon (7-7)

Inside the Game
  • The visitors put the first three batters on base, before a free pass to Lia Fong and sacrifice fly to left by Kate Borza made it 2-0 through a half an inning. A single and an error during the top of the second led to the third run scoring, followed by an RBI triple for Olivia McClammy for the 4-0 lead. Kaylie Renner then took over in the circle for McMahon and conceded an RBI knock to left off the bat of Emily Bertrand pushing the margin to 5-0 through two.
  • After the Garnet added another one in the third on a sac fly to center, Bertrand homered during the fourth making it 7-0.
  • Swarthmore put three more on the board in the ensuing frame with two singles and an error filling the cushions with two away for Fong. She ripped a three-run double into left-center extending the gap to 10-0 and forcing the Red and White into last call.
  • Unfortunately, for Dickinson Goldberg retired the Devils in order to end the game.

Pitching Decision - W - Lane Barron (11-5) | L - Abby Kohan (6-10)

Inside the Game
  • Things started out well for both pitchers as they setdown their respective opposition in order during the first.
  • However, in the top of the second the first five batters provided three singles and a pair of doubles resulting in three runs. A DC error led to the fourth coming home, before a groundout and two flyouts closed things down. The home-half saw Goldman come up with a one out single to left, but a groundout and strikeout prevented a rally from forming.
  • After Kohan came up with a clean top of the third, Laia Gwathmey was hit with one away and then advanced to second on a groundout followed by heading to third thanks to a wild pitch. That brought Jane Lloyd to the dish and she collected the Devils first RBI of the day by smacking a single to center.
  • Unfortunately for Dickinson, two hits and an error led to the visitors making it 5-1 through four. Then, in the fifth, Emory Hadden took over in the circle for Kohan and immediately gave on up as Emilee Espinoza tripled deep into the outfield, before hustling home on the throw in from the fielder. Hadded then recorded a pair of groundouts appearing to give DC a chance to stay in the game, but three errors, two singles and a wild pitch allowed the Garnet to pick up five more to make it 11-1 heading to the home-half.
  • Gwathmey began the last of the frame with a knock to center. However, a double play and groundout capped off the game.
  • Hits - Elizabeth Raefski, Goldman, Gwathmey and Lloyd (1)
  • RBIs - Lloyd (1)
  • Runs Scored - Gwathmey (1)
  • Kohan (L) - 3.0 ip, 7 hits, 5 runs (4 earned), 1 walk, 1 strikeout
  • Hadden - 2.0 ip, 5 hits, 6 runs (1 earned), 2 walks, 0 strikeouts
