PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Dickinson women's volleyball team had their three-match winning streak halted on Saturday afternoon in the first match of a tri against William Paterson by a score of 3-0. However, the Red and White were able to right the ship in the second match against the host Manhattanville by an identical 3-0 final inside of Kennedy Gymnasium.
Match One - Pioneers 3, DEVILS 0 (20-25, 20-25, 18-25)
Set One
- Dickinson found themselves in an early 9-3 hole as a pair of Mallie Thomas kills were the only DC tallies.
- A kill for Amelia Kim along with a solo block for Caroline Cusson pulled the Devils to within 9-6, before WP grabbed six of the next seven ending with a block for Laura Gruener (15-7).
- Aces for Amanda Palo and Camille Dofiles coupled with kills by Emery Fishbach, Norah Oppenheim, Kim and Thomas brought the Red and White to down five at 21-16.
- A combination block slowed the Devils charge, but the duo of Cusson and Thomas gave DC life at 23-20, before a bad serve and joint block for Kristian Glenn and Gruener ended the set 25-20.
Set Two
- For the second straight set WP was out fast taking seven of the first nine points.
- The trio of Cusson, Kim and Thomas trimmed the margin to 10-8.
- The two sides then traded the next eight points with Fishbach and Oppenheim making it 14-12 for WP.Â
- Katie Arcara, Cusson and Palo all recorded points to bring the score to 19-18.
- William Paterson ended things on a 6-2 romp with Riley Elliott closing things out with a kill (25-20).
Set Three
- Dickinson took an early 3-2 edge thanks to a pair of kills by Thomas.
- Then, the Pioneers went on a 13-2 run getting scores from Abby Houpt, Emeli Giesler, Cecilia Miller and Glenn to take a 15-5 lead.
- The trio of Eliette Whittaker, Kim and Thomas along with an ace for Avery Butcher cut it down to 15-9, but Houpt and Miller responded by pushing the margin back to nine (20-11).
- WP continued to keep the Devils at arms length as four Thomas kills and combo block by Cusson and Kim made it 24-18, before Miller capped the match with a kill.

Set One
- Dickinson was rolling early as Thomas picked up three kills and the trio of Butcher, Cusson and Kim each added one for a 7-1 lead.
- The home side rallied with five straight (7-6), but Jessica Currie, Kim and Whittaker answered back to make it 12-7.
- Caylin Caballero and Loren Hernandez helped the home side to take three of the next five, before Currie, Cusson and Thomas pushed back for the Red and White bumping the lead back out to 19-12.
- After a kill by Samantha Andriola, Currie, Kim and Whittaker ripped off six in a row to finish it off 25-13.
Set Two
- Things were nip and tuck at the start as things were locked at 7-7, before Cusson, Flynn, Kim, Thomas and Whittaker put together a 7-2 run to go ahead 14-9.
- A kill by Cassidy Fallon slowed the DC push for a moment, but the duo of Currie and Thomas each put down a kill to stretch the margin out to eight (18-10).
- The Valiants continued to fight hard though with kills by Amelia Morrison and Hernandez getting the score to 18-15.
- Two Thomas aces coupled with kills for Currie, Cusson and Kim helped the Devils take the set at 25-17.
Set Three
- Two DC errors gave MC the slim 2-1 edge, but then Butcher, Currie, Kim and Whittaker mounted an 11-0 run to jump ahead 14-2.
- Emily Brown and Morrison cut the deficit down by one (17-6), before solo kills put home by the trio of Currie, Cusson and Thomas extended the margin by three at 22-8.
- The sides shared the next six which was enough for the Red and White to finish off the match as Thomas pounded down the final score of the match (25-11).
