BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Dickinson women's soccer team got first half tallies from
Mckenna Gross and
Emma Barrabee and outshot the host Bryn Mawr College 22-3 (12-2 on target) en route to a 2-0 Centennial Conference win on Saturday afternoon at Applebee Field. The win for the Red and White also marked the 100th career win at Dickinson for head coach
Ted Zingman.
First Half
- Dickinson was firing right from the opening whistle as Isabelle Bariso, Anna Bitsko and Ivana Vukas each missed over the top of Lily Blackman's goal within the first eight minutes.
- Then, in the ninth minute the Red and White took a 1-0 lead with Ava Prisco setting up Gross for the finish.
- After saves by Blackman against Catherine Fleck and Joelle Ma, it was Pico Gray who denied Lourdes Sankar to keep the guests on top.
- Norah Anderson, Kaitlyn Arnold, and Caitlin Shimko joined Ma and Vukas in tallying shots over the next 20-plus minutes forcing two more stops out of Blackman.
- Following an attempt from Adelynn Arroyo that did not bother Gray, Ma sent the ball ahead to Barrabee who put the ball in the net for a 2-0 halftime edge.
Second Half
- Blackman was put under pressure early again as chances from Lauren Ervin, Maddie Kraft-Williams, Anderson and Barrabee resulted in two more saves as the match reached the 60th minute.
- Between minutes 63 and 65 both goalies would have to make a save as Gray turned away Beatriz da Silva, while Blackman had the answer for Maddie Egan.
- Blackman posted two more stops over the remainder of the match stopping both Ava Cefaloni and Kraft-Williams to keep the final at just 2-0.
