PHILADELPHIA - The Dickinson men's squash team continued their weekend at the College Squash Association Team Championships on Saturday afternoon with a Summers Cup Semifinal against Bowdoin College inside the Specter Squash Center. Despite numerous tightly contested battles it was the Polar Bears who picked up the 6-3 win.
Inside the Match
Dickinson found early success as
Joe Smythe playing at one gave up the first game to Fotis Zafiriou, but then won the next three to take the match. Just below him in the ladder was
Elian Vera who traded games with Liam Waldron, prior to notching identical 11-5 victories. The Devils were then denied two more triumphs at three and four as both
Owen Buroker and
Will Krizek went over an hour with Aryan Singh and William Maschler respectively, but came out on the wrong side of deciding fifth games. Bowdoin continued their run in the middle of the table with Jai Karande and Luciano Agudelo picking up 3-0 wins at five and six against
Derek Du (5th) and
James Kiracofe (6th).
Cormac Sullivan in seventh spot had to go a little more than half an hour to dispatch Sachith Vissapragada in four. The other two matches contested at eight and nine were each won in straight games by the Polar Bears over
Gerardo Ortiz and
George Vollmer V.
