GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson men's track and field team competed in the annual Little 3 Meet, hosted this year by Gettysburg College, this weekend. The Red Devils bested both Gettysburg and Franklin & Marshall to win the event with 143 points, tallying multiple individual event wins.
Sprints
- In the 110m Hurdles, first-year Aidan Coyne earned a silver medal with a strong 17.57 finish. Not far behind in fourth place was first-year Dylan Elder, recording a 18.98. It was all first-years with Barrett Chalmers taking fifth with a 19.66 performance.
- Sophomore Darian Crim started his outdoor season strong, winning the 200m with a great 22.64 performance.
- Crim notched another win in the 400m with a strong time of 49.33. In fourth place was senior Matthew Gareau (52.66) and first-year Maximus Fite took sixth (54.75).
- The Red Devils claimed almost all of the top spots in the 400m Hurdles, led by first-year Owen Seveland winning with a great 58.10 performance. First-year Barrett Chalmers claimed second in 1:01.92, followed by junior Nate Caldwell who finished in 1:02.86. First-years Quinn Chewning and Coyne finished in fourth and fifth, clocking times of 1:03.04 and 1:03.66, respectively.
Distance
- Two-time National Champion Trevor Richwine won the 800m, recording a time of 1:56.40. Not far behind in second place was first-year Michael Dooley with a great 1:57.16 performance. Taking third was sophomore Owen Buroker, clocking a time of 2:01.26.
- The 1500m saw Red Devils take fourth through tenth places. First-year Landen Springer led the pack with a fourth place, 4:20.24 finish, with sophomore Atticus Fair behind him in 4:22.19. In sixth was sophomore Eddie Liszka in 4:25.72, followed by Alex Hansen in 4:26.08. Eighth place saw first-year Jake Hennessey finish in 4:29.89 and Wiley Mulholland took ninth in 4:32.41. Rounding out the top ten was sophomore Andrew Edwards with a 4:32.45 finish.
- Caldwell was victorious in the 3000m Steeple, notching a time of 9:46.50. In third place was Chewning with a time of 10:33.50.
- Sophomore Luke Knestout claimed a win in the 5000m, tallying a great time of 15:13.53. Junior Mason Macek placed second overall with a 15:27.31 performance, and senior Alex Kane took fourth in 15:55.02.
Field
- On Friday, sophomore Oliver Stroka broke the school record in the hammer throw. He won the event with a great 52.98m toss, besting his previous school record of 52m even on April 11 of last year.
- The high jump saw Richwine and Buroker tie for second place with a 1.68m mark.
- In the long jump, Seveland took second with a mark of 5.89m. Sophomore Damon Buchanan took sixth place, recording a 4.20m mark.
- Buchanan continued in javelin, claiming fourth overall with a 47.30m toss. First-year Dan Echeverri finished seventh with a 45.99m mark.
- Elder took second in the pole vault recording a 3.20m, and Masterson took third with a 2.90m mark.
- Echeverri finished sixth in shot put, recording a mark of 11.79m. He also took sixth in shot put with a 11.79m throw.
- He continued in discus, taking fifth overall with a 35.51m throw. Stroka took seventh place with a 34.90m mark.
- The triple jump saw Evan Feldman and Elder go back-to-back in fifth and sixth place, recording marks of 10.44m and 9.85m respectively.
Relays
- Winning the 4x400m Relay was the D squad of Richwine, Gareau, Buroker, and Seveland, notching a great 3:22.49 finish. The A Relay of Crim, Dooley, Fite, and Masterson took second place, clocking a time of 3:22.87.
- The Red Devils picked up another relay win in the 4x800m, with the A Relay of Dooley, Buroker, Sean Harris, and Walker Crochet finishing in 8:39.48. In second place was the B Relay of Gareau, Fite, Alexander Radishofski, and Richwine, recording a time of 8:46.38.
- In the 4x100m Relay, the A squad of Hennessey, Atticus Fair, Hansen, and Will Kane claimed second overall in 51.45.
What's Next?
The Red and White continue the outdoor season next Wednesday, April 1 at the York Midweek Invite. Events are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at Graham Field.
