Trevor Richwine continued to add onto his impressive list of accomplishments on Thursday evening by being named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Mid-Atlantic Region Track Athlete of the Year the organization announced.
Award winners were determined by a vote of USTFCCCA member coaches. Only those individuals from USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
The native of Newville, Pennsylvania, capped a record-breaking season by winning the 800 meters at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships in a meet-record 1:47.39. Just a few weeks earlier, Richwine took down a longstanding NCAA DIII record in the event when he ran 1:47.21 at the Widener Qualifier. Richwine was also named the Centennial Conference Track Athlete of the Year after winning the 800m with a meet record of 1:48.57, as well as being a part of the Red Devils winning 4x400m and 4x800m relays.
