CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson softball team fought hard all afternoon against local foe Messiah University, but it was not enough as the Falcons swept the non-conference doubleheader at Dickinson Park. In game one, the Red and White were unable to finish off a late rally going down 6-2, while in game two the home side took a early 1-0 lead but were ultimately clipped 8-3.

Inside the Game
- The visitors got out to an early 2-0 lead in the first against Abby Kohan as a single from Brielle Rosario came around on a base hit by Fallon Feaser. Rebekah Wiley then delivered an RBI triple, before Lucy Murphy grounded out to end the inning. The home-half saw Jessie Sandusky work a lead off walk, but then get stranded on base as Feaser retired the next three.
- The top of the second was where the Falcons made it 4-0 as they took advantage of two DC errors and one hit. Dickinson got a double from Amelia Plescia during the bottom-half, unfortunately, a fly out by Aubrey Coyle and ground out off the bat of Alex Johnson ended the frame.
- After a scoreless third inning, Skye Cooke took over in the circle for Kohan to start the fourth and posted a "three-up, three-down" frame to keep it at 4-0. Coyle produced a two-out single through the right side, but was left out there as Johnson grounded back to Feaser to retire the side.
- The top of the sixth was where the Falcons extended the margin to 5-0 when with two away a double from Lucy Murphy scored a batter later when Josi Tolentino singled out to right. However, Dickinson answered back during the home-half as a walk to Lauren Routzah and back-to-back singles from Marah Goldman and Plescia loaded the bags with no one out out. Coyle drove home one with the third straight single. Two batters later with one gone Erin McMahon cut it down to 5-2 with an RBI knock to left. Unfortunately, Sandusky grounded out to second to half the rally.
- Messiah used an error to get the lead off runner on, before Feaser helped herself out with a triple to deep left-center pushing the lead to 6-2. The Red and White were unable to mount a threat in the last of the seventh as Aubrey Gilbert, Lloyd and Routzahn all grounded out to end the game.

Inside the Game
- After a flawless top of the first for Erin McMahon, the Devils came to bat in the bottom-half and a walk to Sandusky along with a fielder's choice allowing Lloyd to reach had runners at the corners with one out. A wild pitch let Lloyd swipe second, but Sandusky was tagged out trying to score. McMahon then aided her own cause by reaching on an error letting the run cross making it 1-0 through one.
- McMahon continued to be sharp over the ensuing two innings retiring sixth of the seven she faced during that stretch allowing DC to maintain the 1-0 edge entering the fourth.
- A strikeout and fly out surrounded a single from Feaser to start the fourth. Muphy then tied the score with an RBI single to left, before Tolentino tripled to the fence in right for a 3-1 lead. Back-to-back walks allowed Rosario to single up the line in left plating two more (5-1). Jackie Adler then arrived from the bullpen and induced a ground out from Ava Fair to end the rally. Walks to both McMahon and Goldman coupled with a sac bunt by Kohan had two in scoring position for Coyle. She provided a sac fly to center for one RBI and Eltzholtz plated the second of the inning with a knock to right.
- The margin stayed at just two (5-3) into the sixth when with two out and a pair on thanks to a walk and an error Feaser launched the Adair offering over the right field fence making it 8-3. Dickinson would get one hit in each of their last two chances, but were unable to drive any one home as Routzahn popped up to second for the last out of the game.
