BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Dickinson volleyball team continued their early season road trip on Saturday afternoon with a visit to Moravian University. The Red and White began the day with a hard fought 3-1 setback to Eastern University, before knocking off the host Greyhounds 3-1 in their second matchup of the day inside of Johnston Hall.
Match One - Eagles 3, DEVILS 1 (27-25, 29-31, 25-13, 25-23)
Set One
- Jessie Schreiber recorded the first kill of the match and sent the Eagles on 13-5 romp ending of a score from Alexis Standford.
- Dickinson responded nicely as Jessica Currie, Emery Fishbach, Norah Oppenheim, Amanda Palo and Kylie Schner each recorded points as the Devils got within 17-16.
- A kill for Mallie Thomas coupled with a combination block from Caroline Cusson and Schner gave DC an 18-17 edge, but two Schreiber scores pushed the gap to 20-18.
- The teams traded points for a little while as a kill from Currie and EU service error gave the Devils set point opportunities. However, Eastern answered back with three straight to take the set 27-25.
Set Two
- The Eagles once again got out to a fast start with kills by Lane McLaughlin and Schreiber giving them a 9-6 lead.
- Consecutive EU mistakes closed the margin to 9-8, before a missed serve by Lora Flynn started a 6-1 run to make it 15-9.
- Dickinson used points from Brenna Williams, Cusson, Fishbach, Flynn, Schner and Thomas to cut the deficit down to only one (21-20).
- A kill for Schreiber had EU staring down set point (24-21), but three errors and kills by Schner and Thomas flipped the scoreline to 26-25 DC.
- The sides shared the ensuing eight points to leave things tied at 29-29. However, Dickinson picked up a kill each for Schner and Thomas to grab the frame 31-29.
Set Three
- The group of Katie Arcara, Cusson, Fishbach and Thomas sent DC to the early 7-6 advantage.
- A kill then from Josie Arezina opened up an 11-1 stretch for the Eagles making it 17-8.
- With Flynn on the service line two Oppenheim kills and one each for Schner and Thomas along with a Flynn ace kept the Devils fighting at 19-13.
- Unfortunately Standford put down the final kill of a 6-0 run to close out a 25-13 win.
Set Four
- Maisy Naff joined Cusson, Flynn and Schner to jump out to a 7-5 edge.
- The two sides then traded runs with EU winning four straight, while Currie and Palo organized a 5-0 push (12-9).
- Grace Cooper, Schreiber and Standford claimed seven of the next eight points to flip the score to 16-13 EU.
- A trio of Schner kills nudged DC back on top 17-16, but the Eagles rallied back to finish off the match 25-23 with a kill by Standford.

Set One
- Ella Kilko and Kelly Tempalsky had Moravian out to the early 5-3 edge, before kills by Currie, Cusson and Williams made it 9-6 DC.
- Kills for Kate McBrierty, Payton Reuber and Adi Schwerdtferger helped the Greyhounds to jump out to a 19-14 advantage.
- Currie and Naff notched kills for the Devils off assists from Flynn and Butcher respectively to get within 23-19.
- Thomas pounded down a kill to keep DC alive in the set, but Reuber answered with a score of her own for the 25-20 win.
Set Two
- With Moravian up 4-1, the combination of Butcher and Williams setup the group of Currie, Fishbach, Schner and Thomas to draw even at 8-8.
- A trio of DC miscues and a kill by Reuber gave Moravian the lead back 12-9.Â
- Four kills from Thomas and additional contributions from Cusson, Fishbach and Schner bumped the Devils ahead 18-17.
- After Moravian fought back to take a 21-19 lead, Dickinson took six of the next seven points thanks to Butcher, Currie, Fishbach and Oppenheim (25-22).
Set Three
- A Butcher ace and kills from Currie and Thomas helped DC to jump out to a 7-1 lead.
- Following three Dickinson miscues, a kill by Thomas sparked an 8-2 outburst that included three aces from Flynn and additional kills for Cusson and Schner (15-6).
- After back-to-back Reuber scores, Currie, Cusson, Fishbach and Thomas embarked on a 10-5 charge to claim the set 25-11.
Set Four
- An ace by Butcher and a solo kill for Currie as well as Oppenheim made it 4-3 DC.
- The group of Cusson, Flynn, Schner and Thomas then organized a 13-1 outburst to storm out to a 17-4 lead.
- Scores for Kilko and Reuber stemmed the tide for a minute, but Arcara, Palo, Schner, Thomas and Williams finished the match out in style taking eight of the final eleven points to secure the match 25-9.
