Kelly Shulenberger (Shippensburg University '21) joined the Dickinson field hockey coaching staff as an assistant coach beginning in the fall of 2021.
Shulenberger began her collegiate playing career at Division I American University in Washington, D.C. With the Eagles she made a dozen appearances recording an assist in a win over Central Michigan University. After one season with American the Newville, Pennsylvania native transferred closer to home to play two seasons with Division II Shippensburg University out of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. In one year with the Raiders she appeared in 17 games, making five starts totaling five goals and two assists for 12 points adding 18 shots (13 on target). She also helped the Red and Blue to capture the 2018 Division II National Championship with a 1-0 overtime win over fellow PSAC institution East Stroudsburg University.
As a college student-athlete, she began her coaching career providing private instruction to both individuals and youth programs. In addition to that, she moved up the ladder to the high school ranks serving as a coach at summer camps, clinics, and tournaments.
Before heading to college she earned four varsity letters at Big Spring High School where she was an All-State selection and was named the Mid-Penn Conference Colonial Division Player of the Year. She also holds the Bulldogs record for single-season goals (35), single-season points (84), total career goals (59), and total career points (146).
She currently resides in Carlisle where she works as a realtor for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Homesale Realty specializing in commercial and residential real estate, in addition to coaching at a local field hockey club when she is not on the pitch with head coach Jenn Hanks and the Red Devils.
