College field hockey team rolled to a 9-0 win over Bryn Mawr in the
driving rain on Saturday. The Red Devils struck twice in the first
half and broke open the game with a seven-goal second period. |
Senior Alyssa Sands (Copley, Ohio/Western Reserve
Academy) led the way with three goals and two
assists. Her eight points match the second highest single-game
performance in school history.
Classmate Katelynn Bias (Mechanicsburg,
Pa./Mechanicsburg)had a big day as well, scoring once and
matching a school record with three assists.
Senior Jenny Saber (Potomac, Md./Winston
Churchill) added a pair of goals and an assist. She
tallied the game-winner, scoring off a corner with assists from
Sands and sophomore Lauren Kelly (Lititz,
Pa./Warwick) in the 16th minute.
Senior Amanda Zavada (Forty Fort, Pa./Bishop
Hoban) added a pair of goals as well.
Junior Leah Kaplan (Montclair,
N.J./Montclair) tallied a pair of assists
while Lizzie Boorse (Center Valley, Pa./Southern
Lehigh) returned to the lineup and added a
goal. Katie Mersky (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country
Day) chipped in with an assist.
Amanda West (Harleysville, Pa./North
Penn) faced just one shot on the day. Elizabeth Toft
made 22 saves for Bryn Mawr (0-14, 0-8).
The Red Devils improve to 5-8 overall and 3-3 in the Centennial
Conference. They host Franklin & Marshall on Tuesday at 4:00
pm.
