College men's soccer team remained unbeaten, defeating Dension
University, 1-0, in double-overtime here on Saturday
afternoon. |
The teams battled scoreless though regulation and the first
overtime. First-year Nicolas Tierno (Sicklerville,
N.J./Timber Creek Regional) tallied the game-ender
with just 8:05 remaining in the second overtime to give the Devils
their fourth win of the season.
The Devils held the advantage in shots, 17-6, forcing Dension
goalkeeper Kevin Donahue to make 10 saves.
Senior James VanMeerbeke (Gettysburg,
Pa./Gettysburg) earned the shutout in the nets for
Dickinson, making one save.
The Red Devils improve to 4-0 on the season. They host Wilkes
University on Wednesday evening at 5:00 pm.
