(Swarthmore, Pa.) - The
Dickinson College women's lacrosse team ran past Swarthmore, 15-4,
in the regular season finale on Saturday. |
The Red Devils jumped out to a 5-0 lead en route to a 7-1
advantage at halftime. Five Red Devils accounted for goals in the
first half as Kaity Moore (Chestertown, Md./St.
Andrews) andSunnie Ko (Springfield, Va./West
Springfield) each scored twice. Ko added an assist
during the run as well.
Ko scored just 1:31 into the second half and the teams traded
goals before the Devils closed out the game with a 6-1 run over the
final 20 minutes.
Moore and Ko finished the game with three goals and one assist
while Kelsey Muir (Glen Mills, Pa./Academy of Notre
Dame)tallied three goals as well. Moore also added five
draw controls.
Senior Alysa Crellin (Little Compton,
R.I./Portsmouth Abbey School) controlled a game-high
six draw controls as the Devils held a 17-4 advantage in that
category. First-year Chloe Golod (Huntington,
N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) led the Devils with four
ground balls.
Junior goaltender Jessie Clark (Devon,
Pa./Conestoga) made nine saves to earn the win.
Amy Vachel and Samantha Panepinto each scored twice for
Swarthmore. Allison Grein made nine saves in goal for the
Garnet.
The Red Devils improve to 8-5 overall and 5-4 in the Centennial
Conference. They will travel to Haverford on Wednesday for the
first round of playoffs. Game time has yet to me determined.
