The 'Fords jumped out to a 2-0 lead as Kayleigh Herrick-Reynolds
assisted Jen Schmidt, then scored unassisted at the 20:29 mark.
Abby Larson (Easton, Md./Gunston
Day) scored twice andKatie Moore
(Chestertown, Md./St. Andrew's) went coast-to-coast
to tie the game, 3-3, at halftime.
The teams traded to goals to run the score to 5-5 at the 17:57
mark of the second half. Haverford then scored twice to pull in
front, 7-5.
Alysa Crellin (Little Compton, R.I./Portsmouth Abbey
School)scored with 14:10 remaining before Haverford added
two more, leading 9-6 with 10:28 left to play.
That would be all the scoring as Haverford improved to 9-1
overall and 2-1 in the Centennial Conference.
Crellin, Moore and Larson each finished with two goals. Crellin
added five draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers as
well.
Jessie Clark (Devon, Pa./Conestoga) made
four saves in 35 minutes of action. Amanda Morse
(Massapequa, N.Y./Massapequa) played well, coming on
for the final 25 minutes. She made just one save, but caused a
turnover and controlled two ground balls while allowing just two
goals.
Josie Ferri led Haverford with three goals. Leah Hammerschlag
played outstanding in goal, making 10 saves. Sioban Neitzel made
eight saves in 10 minutes of action, early in the second half.
The Red Devils (5-2, 2-1) are home again on Wednesday, hosting
Muhlenberg College at 4:00 pm.
