Devils Face Tough Competition at DC Invite

(Carlisle, Pa.) - The Dickinson College women's volleyball suffered a pair of setbacks on day one of the Dickinson Invitational. The Red Devils dropped a 3-0 decision to unbeaten Lebanon Valley in the opening match and fell 3-0 to Bridgewater in the nightcap.

 

First-year Joanna De Castro (Far Hills, N.J./West Morris Mendham) tallied five aces and a match-high 17 digs in the opener. Classmate Emily Kisak (Columbia, Md./Howard) led the attack with five kills, adding six digs while Grace Morgan (York, Pa./York Suburban) recorded 11 assists and had six digs in the match.

 

Kisak added eight kills in the Bridgewater match and Morgan dished out 21 assists. De Castro had another match-high with 13 digs. Sophomore Avery Zuvic (Cold Spring, N.Y./Haldane) chipped in with five kills and 10 digs.

 

The Red Devils (0-6) return to action in one of Saturday's first matches at 10:00 am. They will face York College, who handed Lebanon Valley its first loss of the season on Friday afternoon. They face St. Vincent later in the day at approximately 4:00 pm.
